Greetings from Juanita Harper, Executive Director of NC Project Lead

Dear Friends and Partners,

2023 has been an incredibly exciting year for NC Project Lead, filled with impactful programs and initiatives that have made a difference in our local community.

One of our highlights was the successful Economic Summit, where we brought together a panel of experts from around the country. Together, we engaged in thought-provoking discussions on how we can progress and create a better future for the next generation. The insights and ideas that were shared at this summit will certainly shape our actions going forward.

Moreover, we organized health awareness programs that aimed to enhance well-being in our community. It was fulfilling to witness the positive impact these initiatives had on the lives of our residents, as they learned to prioritize and take care of their physical and mental health. The arts and humanities programs we hosted were also tremendous successes, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation among our community members. We firmly believe that art and culture have the power to bring people together and create a sense of unity and understanding.

Last but not least, our White Lotus Gala exceeded all expectations. The event not only brought joy and celebration to our community, but it also raised funds for two of our crucial initiatives—STEAM Education and the White Coat Youth Mentoring Program. None of this would have been possible without the support and generosity of our valued donors. We deeply appreciate your commitment to our cause and for standing by us in making these programs a reality.

As we enter 2024, we know that the road ahead may present new challenges and opportunities. But with the continued support of our donors, we are confident in our ability to create lasting change within our community.

On behalf of the Executive Board of NC Project Lead, we thank you for your support, and we are excited to continue our work together in the year ahead.

Warm regards,

Juanita Harper, Executive Director NC Project Lead

Recently named a “Southern Cultural Treasure” by SouthArts and Ford Foundation, Collage Dance has presented thirteen seasons of emotionally evocative performances to local and international audiences and cultivated a love of dance in thousands of students.

Collage Dance’s founders established the professional dance company in New York City in 2006 in response to the ballet industry’s lack of racial diversity on stage. In 2009, after moving to Memphis, Tennessee, Collage opened its dance conservatory to expand access to classical training to communities of color and prepare them for collegial and professional dance appointments. Collage’s professional dancers serve as role models and cultural ambassadors for the city of Memphis while Collage’s conservatory programs provide a multitude of ways for our community to engage with the fine arts.
